…and many other surprise covers!

“When I first started playing cover gigs, my number one priority was to include songs that not many others played in bars. While a majority of my setlist has songs that plenty of other musicians have covered before, I made certain to feature songs that don’t typically get as much stage time, whether because of logistics or lack of interest.”

“Since I play most of my gigs completely solo with a looper pedal, a lot of work and study had to happen to flawlessly include things like drum/backing tracks. The perfect example would be for Born To Run: I had to make a personal backing track that took out the Saxophone so I could incorporate a guitar solo instead (a phantom Sax sounds cool in theory, but quickly comes across as messy because nobody knows where the Sax is coming from except for you).

“Long story short, I like to have a little bit of extra fun during cover gigs by incorporating a bunch of songs that I grew up listening to, instead of sticking with a single genre or two. Hopefully you can see the vision as well!”
